Cheer Your Spirit Out

The pre-K to first grade mini-cheerleaders do the “whip” led by mascot Zoey Nail.

Mini cheer is a very exciting event during the school year for all the little girls in grades pre-k through 6th grade. The participants said they thought cheer camp said “was a lot of fun.”

At cheer camp they learn many new cheers and a dance. Katrina Prewozniak, fifth  grade, said “we have to know how to do ripples.”

One thing all the cheer-camp girls look forward to is cheering during the pep-rally and also during the football game. Was it was scary cheering in front of everyone? Valary Soliz, fourth grade, and Prewozniak both said “yes, it was scary.”

However, Angeleena Valdez, first grade, said “no, it wasn’t scary.”

Cheerleading has been going very well this year for the high school as well. They have learned many new dances and are showing them off to the audience during pep rallies.

Kaitlin Lawson, freshman, said, “Cheer is going pretty good; we’re learning new dances and have so many pretty good skits made up for our audience, so there’s much more awesomeness to come.”

Some people think cheerleading is not a sport but to them it is. Matthew Watson, sophomore, said “I am doing cheer because cheerleading is something I can’t live without.”2-4 cheer by Kenzie P   The second to fourth grade girls cheer “Clap it high, Clap it low.”
