It is now District time in basketball, and the players are more fired up than ever. The teams have been practicing really hard in order to achieve their goal- District Championships.

“I feel like we are better. We still need improvement, but we are still getting better,” says Coach Tiffany Potts. “Our goal is still to win a District Championships. We are working really hard to be ready.”

Speaking about the most recent game against Wink, “I feel like we could execute our offense better but I think we played as a team,” said senior Bryleigh MacGregor.

“Of course [our goal is] to win a District Championship, but to go beyond that would by our ultimate goal,” says Macgregor.

The boys had a huge transition from football to basketball in a short amount of time.

“To me, it is not that hard of a transition. It is just that when its basketball season, basketball is my favorite sport. When it is football season, football is my favorite sport; 100% during basketball,” said senior Michael Rodriquez.

As for the coaches, the transition was not incredibly difficult. As Rodriguez said, “The change was not as big because we already knew what Coach Potts wanted and how he acts, so we knew what to do. Getting back into basketball and the conditioning was different. Our shooting was not as great but we are improving as the year goes on.”
